Hello beautiful friend, I hope this small story, straight from my journal finds you well. It's about a little cow who seems to know more than it appears. What can a cow teach us about living the good simple life? Apparently quite a lot! Grab a cup of tea, sit back, relax and enjoy one of my many to come nature short stories

As the sun emerges above the horizon, I prepare my coffee on the gas stove, relishing the peacefulness while everyone else remains asleep. Yesterday marked my 40th trip around the sun, and while those years have been filled with countless magical moments and cherished memories, this very moment is the one that truly matters.

Right now, I am exactly where I desire to be. No dependence on electricity from the grid, no public facilities, and no nearby neighbours. It's just me my love our son, and our dog Marley, in our cosy vintage van, surrounded by the soothing melodies of chirping birds and occasional herds of grazing cows passing by.

I can hear the haunting, prehistoric calls of the herds in the distance and smile. A cow's existence is relatively slow and simple, yet they have a clear purpose. They roam the land, grazing and enriching the soil. They stick together as a family and protect one another. Their large, gentle eyes adorned with long lashes exude kindness and apprehension, forming symbiotic relationships with even the tiniest birds, like the Willie Wagtail, happily perched on their backs. Cows and their dung attract insects, which the Wagtails feed on, helping to reduce the bothersome insects and pests that can disturb the cows. What a beautiful example of co-existence this is.

Over the past few days, the cows and the birds have taught me invaluable lessons, and I have found great joy in silently observing them.

Oh, beautiful creature who simply roams, Chewing the grass of the seeds so sown, What are you thinking? if thinking at all, What are you saying with your bellowing call? The cow looked on over. stared deep into my soul, Child, I am simply surviving, it’s not complex at all.

I savour my coffee and close my eyes; my senses heightened as I soak it all in. The serenity, family, the cows and the birds. How blessed I am to be alive in this moment with everything I need. When you pull back the curtains and breathe in the sun, it becomes apparent that life; well... it's not that complex at all.
